Last week was very crazy and eventful! Jaycob was elegible to be re-drafted (first time was out of high school - drafted by the New York Yankees) in the Major League Baseball Draft.
Here is link to an article that Jaycob's hometown newspaper wrote about the draft :

Here is a map I made to guess where Jaycob would be drafted. He had heard from every team, so we really had no clue what would happen.
My brother in law, Adam Gerulat and friend Bret guessed correctly.
Jaycob's name was called on the draft when he was on the phone with a scout from the Angel's Organization. Jaycob said he didn't hear his name but we were all screaming so he soon realized.
After celebrating, Jaycob, his brothers, and his dad went to his high school to hit and throw. Even on a day that most people would take off to celebrate, Jaycob is always making baseball a priority and putting in time to work on getting even better.
The next day we drove from Phoenix (where his parents live) to Vegas and stayed a night at The Red Rock. It was our last "date night" before he was to report to mini-camp with the A's.
We relaxed by the pool - which is incredible by the way. I totally recommend staying there. Then we had dinner and saw a movie all within our hotel. It was so great!
The next morning we had a 4D HD Ultrasound at Miracle in Progress in Summerlin, Nevada. HD ultrasounds are not available in Utah so it worked perfectly for us to be able to stop in vegas. It was beyond words INCREDIBLE!! They gave us pictures and a dvd of the full session. Our little baby was very smiley and yawned many times.

We then drove back home to Utah where I had a surprise "Congrats on the Draft" party waiting for Jaycob. I couldn't have done it without my mom and sister Nicole. They set everything up. Nicole made an insane cake! She is incredibly talented!
Themed Snacks: Baseball Cake, Home Shaven Shave Ice, Peanuts, Sunflower Seeds, Cracker Jacks, Beef Jerky, and A's Cookies
Some BYU baseball friends! Me & Jaycob, Adam Law (drafted by the Dodgers), Haley & Brock Luker (Brock introduced Jaycob and me), Madison & Drew Dennis (Pitcher at BYU), Deidre & Adam Miller (drafted by the Diamond Backs).
Bright and Early the next morning, I dropped Jaycob off at the airport to fly back to Arizona for A's mini-camp. He's been there this whole week and yesterday was selected to move up to the A's short season team in Vermont. The Vermont Sea Monsters. He is flying there today!
I am so proud of him for all he has accomplished and is continuing to work hard to accomplish. He is one of the most determined people I know. We LOVE you Jaycob!!
